Membership
Becoming a member of BCA
If you are a resident of the Braunstone New Deal area* and over 18 years old, you can become a Member of BCA.
As a Member of BCA you will be entitled to receive notice of, attend and vote at BCA’s general meetings, including the Annual General Meeting. You will be kept up to date with BCA’s activity and will have the opportunity to preview our major projects.
Being a member gives you the opportunity to have a say in the way the company is run for the benefit of residents and to have a stake in its direction for the future. As a member, you are entitled to stand in the annual elections for appointment to the BCA Board of Directors.
Resident Members can resign their membership at any time by giving written notice to the Company Secretary.
Members will cease to be members if they move from the area and are no longer a resident of Braunstone.
Because BCA is a limited company, Members’ liability is limited. If the company is wound up (which could happen, for example, if it cannot pay its debts) then members will have to pay no more than £1 to the company. This is the amount that the members ‘guarantee’ or promise to pay to the company.
How do I become a member?
All you need to do is complete the membership application form and return it to the BCA offices, either by e-mail to bca@braunstone.com, or by post to BCA, Head Office, Forest Business Park, Oswin Road, Braunstone, Leicester, LE3 1HR.
If you would like more information about becoming a member, help completing the form, or if you would like us to send you a hard copy of the form, please contact us on: 0116 2853940.
Please note, we will need to check that you are a resident in the New Deal area*. To do this, we will look at the electoral list. If you are not on the electoral list, please send with your form proof of your identity and address; for example, a copy of your driving licence and a recent household bill.
Please fill in one form per applicant.
*The New Deal area is the geographical area covered by the New Deal for Communities funding. If you would like to check whether your address is in the area, please contact BCA on 0116 285 3940 and let us know your postcode.
