BCA delivering renewal

Services

The Company itself, offers a number of key services:

Through B-Working it provides a direct information, advice and guidance (IAG) service to local residents, via its local offices right in the heart of the community (Braunstone and New Parks), along with a job brokerage and training package that will prepare and assist local people into work. Formerly known as Braunstone Working, this service has been successful in achieving over 1000 job outcomes since 2002, and is now fully qualified to provide the service having passed the “Matrix Accreditation” in 2005.

Through the development of Braunstone’s £3 million “Enterprise Hub” on Hinckley Road (A47), the newly named Business Box, will be the location from where BCA will provide a range of managed office space and incubation units, along with a package of bespoke enterprise support services. The Centre is due to open in early 2008. If you want further information regarding this exciting opportunity, whether that would be renting office space, or whether you are interested in setting up your own enterprise, please contact the Centre Manager on 0116 279 5000.

Through a neighbourhood support role within the Braunstone area, BCA is also developing a local neighbourhood management approach to further improve the way services are provided and delivered locally. The Neighbourhood Support Team helps and assists local residents and “community of interest” groups to work closer with local service providers to improve the overall management of the neighbourhood.

Through are unique “hosting” arrangements, BCA is also delivering the Streetvibe Young People Service (SYSP). This innovative service provides support to assist and empower young people to become active citizens within their community, and is now operating in many parts of Leicester.

Completing the BCA range of services is our unique approach in developing and implementing a resident-led and “inclusive and participatory” strategies to the comprehensive neighbourhood renewal of a disadvantaged estate. This is supported by our excellent “project development” and “programme management” skills and techniques implemented through highly qualified and experience staff that have a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Along with the “Matrix Accreditation, BCA achieved Investors in People Status in 2005, and has been well documented as a source of “good practice”. It was recently ranked “Good” by the Audit Commission and the Department of Communities & Local Government.
